Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Throughout this Advent season, we have concentrated on all the ways that King Jesus has come near to us. That's the wonder of this season. That in the darkness and the depravity of human sin, God Himself entered into time and space so that He could rescue us. He has come near to the broken and the weary. What incredible news! And Isaiah 7:14 highlights this by telling us that one of His names would be Immanuel, which means "God with us". For those who have truly been born again, the idea of God being with us thrills our hearts and stirs our souls with joy. So as we prepare for Christmas day tomorrow, take some time to really ponder the beauty of Christ's incarnation. And to help with that, click here to listen to a song that celebrates it.
- What are some things you can do tomorrow morning to remember the truth that in Christ "God is with us"?
- Who is someone in your life that you could share the hope of Christ with?
